Amid the successful formation of a parliamentary opposition alliance, could a larger alliance among non-parliamentary opposition parties be on the horizon?

Roshi Bhadain, along with members of the Reform Party, and his partner Patrick Belcourt of En Avant Moris, are scheduled to meet with Rama Valayden, Dev Sunnasy, and other leaders of Linion Pep Morisien (LPM) this Monday evening.

As of Saturday afternoon, it remained unclear if Nando Bodha, leader of the Rassemblement Mauricien (RM), would also participate.

The purpose of this meeting is to forge an agreement for an alliance among these different political formations.

“We agree that we need to work together. The question is how,” said Dev Sunnasy, co-leader of LPM. While both sides aim to overhaul Mauritius’ system since its Independence, including a constitutional overhaul, there remain several points of contention to be addressed.
