The brother-in-law of a minister has been accused of assaulting a police officer while on duty at the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA) office in Cassis on Monday, July 10.

According to Defi Media, the policeman was approached by an employee of the NLTA complaining about the behaviour of the man. When the officer tried to calm the situation, the minister’s brother-in-law became aggressive and violently confronted him.

A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, shows Senna Budlorun hurling abusive remarks at the officer. Some people accompanying the accused were also heard verbally attacking the policeman and threatening violence.

The Policeman’s calmness against the verbal attacks and threats has sparked praise and support by the public.

However, the policeman filed a complaint at the Line Barracks police station against the man for “outrage.”

In his statement, he reportedly said he felt humiliated in front of the public and expressed concerns for his safety.
