Mark Watkinson is the new President of Mauritius Bankers’ Association

Mark Watkinson, CEO of Bank One, has been appointed as the new President of the Mauritius Bankers’ Association, succeeding Bonnie Qiu.

The announcement came after the association’s recent general assembly, l’Express reported.

He was cited as expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him and commended Qiu’s leadership during the challenging period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He pledged to work in partnership with the Bank of Mauritius and other stakeholders to drive the sector’s development.

Watkinson emphasised the association’s commitment to being a financing source for projects that prioritise a balance between investment returns and environmental considerations.
