Mrs Bibi Zuleka Jogee, from Beau Bassin, is Mauritius’ latest centenarian – she celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday 12 February 2023 at her residence, surrounded by family and friends.

The new centenarian owes her longevity to her belief and faith in God. She has also been very health-conscious since her young age, doing her jogging and exercises, while eating healthy food, including lots of fruits.

Mrs Bibi Zuleka Jogee was born on 08 February 1923 in Port Louis. She married at the age of 13 years old and had five children. Her husband passed away in 1974. Mrs Jogee has ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Local authorities offered Mrs Jogee a cheque of Rs 26,203; a mixer grinder; a bouquet of flower; the centenarian medal and a certificate for her service.

In addition, the National Solidarity Fund of the Ministry gave her a cheque of Rs 10,000, and gifts were bestowed by the Senior Citizen Council.
