Air Mauritius to resume flights to 3 more Indian destinations, China

Air Mauritius currently only serves Mumbai, India. This is due to its limited capacity, whereas before the COVID-19 pandemic, the national airline served four major cities.

However, the situation is set to change soon, according to the Ministry of Tourism, with the increase in the number of Indian destinations.

As from May 3, Air Mauritius will be back in Delhi. Chennai and Bangalore are also expected to be added to the list of destinations.

Indian airline Vistara is also planning to fly to Mauritius in a few months from Mumbai. Vistara, a joint venture between Singapore Airlines and the Tata Group, has reportedly been taking a close interest in Mauritius.

Air Mauritius also reportedly intends to fly to China soon. “It is a big market which is important for the tourism industry.

For more than two years, the Chinese did not travel. It is only now that the restrictions to the country have been lifted”, a government official was cited as saying.
