Ramgoolam meets Indian Minister Jaishankar before flying back home

The former Prime-Minister and leader of the Labour Party, Dr Navin Ramgoolam has met External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Thursday, a couple of days before he takes the plane back to Mauritius.

Ramgoolam was flown to Delhi on September 8 on a charter for urgent COVID treatment at All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). His condition was said to be serious.

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, the latter tweeted he was pleased meet Ramgoolam and was “glad that he has recovered fully.”

The Minister, who visited the island in February this year, added that he values ex-PM’s strong support for our “exceptional relationship.”

Ramgoolam is expected back in Mauritius during the week-end, local media reported. Supporters are reportedly planning to greet Dr Ramgoolam along the way from the airport to his residence.
