Minister of Labour Soodesh Callichurn tested positive for Covid-19

Mauritius Minister of Labour Minister Soodesh Callichurn, also Minister of Trade and Consumer Protection, has been tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Le Mauricien, he is currently in self-isolation at his house in Trou-aux-Biches.

“He is doing relatively well at this point, although he has already started to experience the first symptoms of the disease,” it reported.

Minister Callichurn was part of the group of government MPs who were vaccinated against the coronavirus in March last year.
