College Students Stage Protest Over 6-Month Black-out!

The students of Floréal SSS College walked out of their classrooms on Thursday, March 14th, due to a lack of electricity.

Head boy of the school Tileivaanen Goundan explained that all students are frustrated with the ongoing blackout for about six months.

“Students have projects to complete in various subjects such as Computer, Design, etc. and there is currently no solution. They have deadlines to meet in 4 months, and nothing has been done for these students.”

It is worth noting that during the end-of-year exams in 2023, measures were taken by authorities to allow students to take the tests.

At that time, the power outage was attributed to theft of electrical cables in the region.

An official from the Ministry of Education informed us that the situation is being closely monitored by officials.

He stated that the school has been targeted by theft three times. In order to address the situation, work was carried out by a contractor who completed his work last Saturday.

Unfortunately, thieves returned the following day, causing the outage once again.

The Ministry of Education’s solution is to review the installations, increase security measures, and install cameras around the secondary school.
