The government has announced that it will provide support to struggling businesses by covering the cost of salary compensation.

This assistance will be extended to small and medium-sized enterprises with a turnover of up to Rs 100 million, manufacturing companies in the export sector, and manufacturing companies serving the local market.

Around 110,000 public sector employees and 350,000 private sector employees will benefit from this compensation, which will be implemented in January of next year.

Additionally, the monthly CSG allowance of Rs 2,000 for employees earning up to Rs 25,000 and Rs 1,000 for those earning between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 will be maintained.

The government will also include registered NGOs in the provision of salary compensation.
