Foreign workers in Mauritius will also benefit from the salary compensation increase that Mauritian workers are receiving, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Starting from January 2024, all foreign workers will receive a 10% salary compensation on their wages, which will range between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000.

Additionally, foreign workers are eligible for the minimum wage and the CSG Allowance provided by the Mauritius Revenue Authority.

If a foreign worker earns less than Rs 25,000 per month, they will receive an allowance of Rs 2,000, and if they earn above Rs 25,000, the allowance will be Rs 1,000.

Therefore, the minimum guaranteed income for eligible foreign workers will be Rs 18,500 from January 2024.

Part-time employees will also be entitled to salary compensation, calculated on a pro-rata basis depending on their working hours.
