Mother Demands DNA Test to Confirm Baby is Hers

A paediatrician at Dr A. G. Jeetoo Hospital took the extraordinary step of filing a Precautionary Measure at Casernes Centrales Police Station on Friday, December 1.

The reason? A young mother has audaciously demanded a DNA test to confirm that the baby in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit is actually hers.

According to the mother, the child just doesn’t look like her. “That’s not my kid, and it doesn’t resemble its father either,” she reportedly informed the medical staff.

In response to her doubts, the hospital administration has requested a DNA examination to determine the parentage of the infant.

The Forensic Science Laboratory will conduct the test with the consent of the parents.

The paediatrician further narrated that on Thursday, November 30, during a routine visit to the ward, the baby’s father approached him to inquire about the newborn’s health.

Together, they escorted the father and mother to the neonatal department.

However, upon laying eyes upon the infant, the mother emphatically declared that this was not her child.
