Local residents in Palmar are questioning whether the road will be redirected or if access to the beach will be maintained due to a land development project.

While some are supportive of development in the region, they emphasise the importance of preserving the beach and ensuring continued accessibility.

The project, which involves a hotel and real estate development on a  238 arpents and 10 perches of land facing the public beach, raises concerns about ecological impacts and the future of the beach.

The area also includes wetland zones and a former breeding station site identified by the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning, and Tourism for this development.
