Heavy rainfall Watch in effect in Mauritius

The Mauritius Meteorological Station issued a heavy rainfall warning at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

An area of instability is reportedly approaching the island from the northwest and atmospheric conditions are favourable for the formation of active clouds.

Therefore, moderate to locally heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms are to be expected.

Due to the heavy showers forecasted for the country, the public has been urged to seek safety and avoid open areas and places prone to water accumulation, as well as to exercise caution on the roads due to reduced visibility.
