Finance Minister to Amend Law to Get More Powers

The Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, and Development, Dr Rengananden Padayachy, plans to make amendments to the regulations that govern the Projects Development Fund.

According to Cabinet papers, the purpose of these amendments is to provide financing for specific projects listed in the Public Sector Investment Programme, as well as other projects, schemes, or programs that are “approved by the Minister”.

Additionally, the fund will also cover consultancy, preparatory, or advisory services related to the aforementioned projects, schemes, and programs.
