Corexsolar is facing controversy as it pushes to finalise its new photovoltaic farm site for a Rs 5 billion project.

The company still does not possess the title deed for the site where it plans to develop two 30MW projects.

Despite informing the Central Electricity Board (CEB) of its procedures, Corexsolar is still awaiting official documentation for the ratification of an Energy Supply and Purchase Agreement.

The delay has raised concerns and the Independent Commission Against Corruption is investigating the bidding process.

Corexsolar faces penalties of Rs 360,000 per day if it fails to meet the deadline. The CEB may consider a “force majeure” circumstance.

Opposition figures are closely monitoring the situation.
