CEO, Hans Margueritte Resigns Amidst Qualifications Controversy

Hans Margueritte has resigned as the CEO of the National Empowerment Foundation (NEF) on Monday, 23 October 2023.

The announcement was made on his Facebook page.

He wrote: “I resigned at 4 p.m. today as the CEO of the NEF. I feel discouraged today, but tomorrow I can rise stronger.

Your support gives me the strength to continue fighting for a better day. I can always continue helping those in need.”

Margueritte got dragged into a controversy after his pay packet was revealed in Parliament by the Social Security Minister, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, in response to queries from Opposition MPs Michael Sik Yuen and Rajesh Bhagwan.

Hans Margueritte earns a salary of Rs123,075 and receives allowances for transport and a car worth approximately Rs95,000, even though he only holds a School Certificate (O’Levels).
