Financial Intelligence Unit secures asset freeze against Singhs

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) successfully petitioned the court for an asset freezing order against former Mauritius Telecom CEO Sherry Singh and his wife Varsha Singh.

The restraining order targets bank accounts held by the couple across multiple financial institutions, as well as three vehicles – a BMW 850i X drive, an Audi A5, and a BMW X5 – and several properties, including land of 4,953m² registered under the name of a company, Kingston View, in Le Bout du Monde, Ebène, a commercial building on land of 124.48m² with a footprint of 625m² registered under La Batisse Marina Ltd in Rose-Hill, and land measuring 3,207.56m² registered under Tera Primus Ltd in the Moka region.

The order was issued by Judge Gaitree Jugessur-Manna in response to the FIU’s request.
