Air Mauritius Cinderellas: Shoes Not Included in Hostess Uniforms!

An article on the FranceTV Info Mayotte website has poked fun at Air Mauritius flight attendants who are currently in a dispute with their airline over the reimbursement of their… footwear expenses.

According to an article authored by Bruno Minas, it has come to light that the airline’s uniform package does not include work shoes, leaving attendants to foot the bill themselves.

The airline reportedly specifies a particular heel height and width that is purportedly hard to find in stores, and if available, tends to be quite pricey.

The article alleges that some attendants have even faced disciplinary action for not wearing the prescribed shoes.

But the concerns don’t stop there. Attendants are also raising issues about the evacuation slides on airplanes. It appears that during training drills, these slides lack braking systems, resulting in attendants hurtling down at alarming speeds, only to crash unceremoniously onto the tarmac.

Regrettably, one attendant is said to have suffered a broken ankle during such an exercise.

Having found no resolution with Air Mauritius management, the association representing cabin crew members has reportedly escalated the matter to the Minister of Labour.
