Trade Union leader Fayzal Ally Beegun has exposed an alleged extortion racket targeting foreign workers at a prominent foreign currency exchange bureau in Port Louis.

Beegun shared a 16-second video depicting foreign workers outside the bureau, presumably requesting attention from someone inside.

At a certain point, a security guard is seen receiving money, likely a Rs 100 note, from another individual.

Beegun alleged that security personnel at the outlet may be extorting money from foreign workers seeking to send funds to their families abroad.

He called for a thorough investigation and action against any involved employees.

Beegun also highlighted concerns about reported extortion within certain companies during contract renewals for foreign workers.
