Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun Assumes Interim Prime Minister Role

The Minister of Education and Vice-Prime Minister, Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, has been serving as the interim Prime Minister since Tuesday, September 26.
Deputy Prime Minister, Steven Obeegadoo, is in Saudi Arabia participating in activities related to World Tourism Day, celebrated today.
However, Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun will not be able to preside over the Cabinet meeting this Friday.
Pravind Jugnauth, who has been absent from the country for over a week, is returning from London on Thursday after meetings with lawyers handling the Chagos dossier.
