Old-Age Pension Soars: 1,112 More Beneficiaries Added in a Month

There has been an increase in the number of pensioners receiving old-age pensions in Mauritius between July and August 2023, with an additional 1,112 beneficiaries added to the list.

According to the latest monthly report from Statistics Mauritius on September 13, the number has risen from 258,834 to 259,946 in just one month.

In Mauritius, there were 249,139 recipients of the Rs 11,000 old-age pension last month, along with 5,715 Rodriguans aged between 60 and 89 years. In total, 4,928 pensioners, including 125 in Rodrigues, receive Rs 18,710.

Additionally, there are 153 pensioners in Mauritius and 11 in Rodrigues receiving Rs 23,710 monthly.
