Health Statistics 2022: Mauritians are smoking and drinking more

The consumption of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages per capita in Mauritius has skyrocketed.

The shocking findings were brought to light in the Health Statistics Report 2022.

According to the data, the per capita cigarette consumption has surged from 794 in 2021 to 870 in 2022.

Simultaneously, the consumption of alcoholic products has soared from 45.0 litres per capita in 2021 to 48.9 litres per capita in 2022.
