Over 4,900 Cases of Acute Respiratory Infections in One Week

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,913 cases of acute respiratory infections within a week. From August 28 to September 3, approximately 700 patients sought medical attention daily at healthcare centres.

These numbers encompass cases of influenza, COVID-19, and adenovirus, among others.

Dr. Fazil Khodabocus, the Regional Public Health Superintendent at the Ministry of Health, attributed the surge in infections to the cold and dry climate.
