Employees of the Development Bank of Mauritius (DBM) have received a salary increase ranging from 10% to 13%, retroactively effective from 2021.

This was confirmed by the chief negotiator of the DBM Ltd Staff Association, Deepak Benydin, in a statement to Defi Media.

The union president was particularly pleased that employees have retained their acquired rights after fierce resistance from union representatives.

“We even declared a dispute before the Conciliation and Mediation Commission to defend the acquired rights of workers,” he was cited as saying.

He also expressed satisfaction that working hours remained unchanged.

Among these benefits is the reimbursement of unused casual leave and the reimbursement of sick leave under certain conditions.
