Mauritius Central Bank Governor Gets 'A' Grade in Report Cards 2023

Harvesh Seegolam, the Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, has been awarded an “A” grade by Global Finance magazine in their Central Banker Report Cards 2023.

These annual report cards assess central bank governors from 101 countries based on their performance in controlling inflation, achieving economic growth objectives, maintaining monetary stability, and managing interest rates.

An “A” signifies excellent performance.

The report highlights the critical role of central banks in addressing inflation caused by pent-up demand and disrupted supply chains.

Harvesh Seegolam received an “A” grade alongside central bank governors from Brazil, Israel, and New Zealand, while India, Switzerland, and Vietnam secured an “A+” rating.
