Mauritius Targets Over 7% Economic Growth in 2023

Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy has projected that Mauritius will experience economic growth exceeding 7% this year, aiming for 8%, following an 8.8% growth rate in the previous year.
He emphasised the government’s commitment to maintaining social measures, even in the absence of economic growth, with assistance provided in various forms, including salaries, food, and pensions, to reduce social inequalities.
In June, the country welcomed a total of 82,208 visitors, with 566,413 being tourists and 16,666 arriving for business purposes.
