Mauritius Records Remarkable Tourism Growth in H1 2023

Mauritius has seen a substantial resurgence in international travel and tourism during the first half of 2023, with significant increases in passenger arrivals and departures compared to the same period in 2022.

The country welcomed a total of 813,790 passengers, up from 493,453, driven by a surge in tourists reaching 596,466, a rise from 376,556.

Cruise tourism has revived, with 14 cruise ships and 21,986 passengers, including 5,280 tourists, visiting Port Louis.

France remains a primary contributor, with tourist arrivals from France increasing to 147,325 from 93,446. Extended stays have led to more overnight stays, reaching 7,089,989.
