Privatisation of Casinos Faces Hurdles, SIC Seeks New Buyers

The State Investment Corporation (SIC) of Mauritius has reportedly encountered “challenges” in its bid to privatise the country’s casinos.

According to reports, the SIC has rejected the current bids from potential buyers due to disagreements over conditions, apparently concerning employee retention.

The sticking point has stalled the privatisation process, prompting SIC to seek new international and local investors who can meet the established criteria.

If no suitable proposals arise, SIC will initiate measures to improve the situation of Mauritius casinos.
