Ex-Mauritius Customs Top Gun Passes Away at 84

Gorah Alladee, a former assistant Director of Customs in the 1990s, has passed away at the age of 84. He was known for his exceptional qualities at the customs and his notable actions during his career.

Alladee gained attention for taking former Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth to court, leading to an investigation that resulted in the removal of the former Police Commissioner, Raj Dayal.

He also seized a Mercedes car ordered by Jugnauth and detected under-invoicing in the Kala Niketan case, which led to significant consequences for those involved.

Alladee retired in 1999. His funeral took place on Sunday.
