Three Russians make it rain Dollar notes, pizzas in Grand-Baie

Grand-Baie reportedly witnessed an extraordinary incident last week that left people in awe. Three Russians, seemingly out for some fun, made it rain dollars, quite literally.

According to reports, the trio stormed into a famous pizza restaurant and ordered over Rs 300,000 worth of pizzas, not just to satisfy their hunger but also to spread joy among the onlookers. This is an incident that many will remember for a long time.

Eyewitnesses spoke to l’Express: “I couldn’t believe it. I went to grab a sandwich, and suddenly, money started falling from the sky. Many people rushed to collect the cash. People were finding $100 notes flying around. It was a real scramble. I managed to get my fair share,” one was quoted as recalling.

“Those Russians poured Rs 125,000 on the table and made it rain.”

Throngs of people reportedly rushed to the scene, hoping to collect as many greenbacks as possible.

“The three Russians had come to Mauritius to spend their money lavishly. However, many were hesitant to openly discuss it, fearing that they might be dealing with members of the mafia,” l’Express reported.

“They’re all getting something. Someone even got an iPhone. Now, who’s going to talk? Who’s going to mess with them?” another bystander who decided to stay away from the opportunistic crowd was quoted as saying.

It seemed that the Russians – said to be Youtubers – also hired bodyguards to ensure their safety.

During the past week, they apparently purchased fish worth Rs 200,000 and released them into the sea. “Rumours are circulating that they have a whopping Rs 2 billion to spend,” l’Express said.

Unpaid Food Complaint

On Saturday, June 17, the same trio reportedly caused a ruckus at another restaurant in Pointe-aux-Cannoniers.

Upon arrival, they allegedly ordered food and booze worth Rs80,000. Seeking even more excitement, the foreign customers allegedly demanded Russian music, which the restaurant owner declined since the establishment caters to a diverse clientele.

The Russians apparently didn’t take it well and left without settling the bill.

According to Defi Media, a complaint was lodged at the local police station, leading to the CID and a special commando unit apprehending the trio.

However, they were later released after cooperating and reaching an agreement with the restaurant owner.

The question on everyone’s mind now is, will the Russian trio continue their extravagant adventures this weekend? Only time will tell if they will strike again with their audacious spending spree.

What are you doing this week-end?
