Toyota issues urgent recall of Yaris Hatchback (2020 and 2023)

Toyota has issued an urgent recall for its beloved Yaris hatchback, sending shockwaves through the automotive industry. The Japanese brand has found itself in a race against time, as approximately 7,600 vehicles manufactured between May 2020 and May 2023 are now under scrutiny.

This recall, which encompasses both petrol and hybrid models, Australian leading media, news.com.au has reported.

The haunting reason behind this recall lies in a manufacturing error that has inflicted potential damage to a critical component: the suspension arm.

The repercussions of this error are spine-chilling. It has been discovered that minor cracking could occur in the suspension arm, a terrifying prospect for drivers who frequently traverse treacherous and uneven road surfaces.

Should the suspension arm break under these perilous conditions, the consequences could be catastrophic—increasing the likelihood of severe accidents, injuries, or even death.

Toyota has asked all affected owners to contact their local dealership immediately to book in for a free inspection and repair.

Toyota said the inspection will take about 30 minutes and if a crack is found it’ll take another two to five hours to fix.
