Price of petrol and diesel to remain unchanged until January next year

The Petroleum Pricing Committee (PPC) has kept the prices of petrol and diesel unchanged until January 14 next year.

According to the PPC, the government and the State Trading Corporation are closely monitoring the situation and are not in favour of a hike in prices of petrol and diesel.

The PPC stated that despite costs for crude oil are expected to rise in October, the PPC said it will ensure that the increase is not passed on to consumers.

The PPC explained that the funds of the Price Stabilisation Account will be used to this effect.
