Yu Lounge under axe over unpaid bills to Airports of Mauritius

A formal legal notice served to Veling, the operator of the YU Lounge, on September 8 reportedly threatens to take-over the company’s premises and assets at the airport. The operator of the YU Lounge has allegedly defaulted on several important bills.

The YU Lounge started its operations in December 2008 and is located at the SSR International Airport. It caters exclusively for VIP passengers, particularly those travelling in private jets.

According to l’Express newspaper, the possibility of a ‘Notice for Immediate Termination’ is reportedly being coined as an option, if Yu Lounge does not settle its bills soon.

The newspaper added that Nirvan Veerasamy’s Veling Group has a Lease Agreement for the facility but no contract with the owner and operator of SSR International Airport, that is Airports of Mauritius (AML).

It seems that AML has decided to cash in the accumulated dues.
