Liquid cocaine found in 2 bottles at Mauritius airport, three arrested

Some Rs 48million worth of liquid cocaine were seized at SSR International Airport (SSRIA) in Mauritius during the weekend. Three suspects – two Ukrainian nationals (aged 25 and 30) and a 31-year-old Belgian cook living at Curepipe were arrested. 

The two Ukrainians were reportedly arrested at the SSRIA with two bottles one of wine and the other of gin. The bottles both contained a yellowish liquid suspected to be liquid cocaine – and an estimated market value of Rs48 million.

The two are said to have arrived in Mauritius on Air Belgium flight KF2301 from Brussels, Belgium.

Police are said to be investigating.
