As schools resumed today, allowing access only to students above the age of 18 who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, Le Mauricien reported that a peaceful protest was held in front of Parliament to raise against “forced” vaccination.

“Forcing us to give our consent is terrorism”, said spokesperson Reuben Pillay. He added that forcing people to sign a consent form is “not normal”.

Another banner said “Vaccinated people can also transmit the COVID. So why discriminate?”

The protesters also criticized the decision of the Ministry of Education restricting access to students above 18 years old that have not received their anti-COVID-19 jab.

They called for the resignation of Health Minister Dr Kailesh Jagutpal.
