Over Rs100M as fees to Administrators of Air Mauritius?

A certain degree of opacity clouds the issue of payment of fees to Sattar Hajee Abdoula and Arvindsingh Gokhool, appointed adminstrators of Air Mauritius on April 22, 2020, Defi Media reported.

“Have the Administrators of Air Mauritius received fees of Rs 127 million for the work carried out so far?” the newspaper said, adding that the amount has “not been confirmed or refuted.”

The question was separately put in Parliament to PM Pravind Jugnauth and Finance Minister Dr Renganaden Padayachy, but was left answered, Defi Media reported.

Meanwhile, cash flow is said to be strained at the distressed airline.

Some 18 pilots were urged to accept a ‘leave without pay’ deal of 5 years, while some 1,300 employees face the risk of being made redundant.
