Localised Showers Hit Western Areas Today as Temperatures Climb to 33°C

Showers are expected to break out across western districts and the central plateau this Tuesday, 14 April, as a warm, humid airflow moves across the region.

Meteorologists predict that while the morning will remain largely fine with occasional cloud cover, atmospheric conditions will lead to localized showers by the afternoon.

These downpours may become moderate in intensity as cloud formations develop over higher ground and leeward areas.

Temperature Outlook

The island is set to experience conditions slightly warmer than the seasonal average.

Residents in coastal regions can expect daytime highs between 30°C and 33°C, while temperatures on the high grounds will range from 26°C to 28°C.

Overnight, the mercury is forecasted to drop to between 19°C and 21°C on the central plateau, with coastal areas maintaining a warmer minimum of 23°C to 25°C.

Wind and Sea Conditions

A light breeze from the east-north-east will persist at approximately 15 km/h.

Although conditions onshore remain relatively calm, the Meteorological Office has noted that sea conditions will be more unsettled.

Beyond the reefs, the sea is expected to be rough, with south-westerly swells reaching heights of up to 2 metres.
