Mauritius Telecom Launches App to Keep Children Safe on Mobile Devices
Mauritius Telecom has officially launched ‘my.t Protect Parental Control’, a dedicated application designed to safeguard children using smartphones and tablets.
The launch took place on Monday 11 May at Telecom Tower in Port Louis. The event was attended by high-profile officials including Mauritius Telecom CEO Vimal Gungadin, ICT Minister Avinash Ramtohul, and Police Commissioner Rampersad Sooroojbally.

Powered by Norton, the new digital solution is engineered to secure devices across both Wi-Fi networks and mobile data.
The application provides parents with increased visibility into their children’s device usage, facilitating stricter parental control and a more secure browsing environment.
CEO Vimal Gungadin noted that the various features offered by the app are intended to provide parents with “peace of mind” regarding their children’s digital activities.
Subscription Details
The service is positioned as an accessible add-on for existing customers while remaining open to the wider public:
- my.t Customers: Available for a monthly fee of Rs 160.
- Non-my.t Customers: Available via an annual subscription priced at Rs 2,160.
Minister Avinash Ramtohul joined Mr Gungadin in providing further technical details on the rollout, emphasizing the importance of protecting younger users in an increasingly connected landscape.
