Review of ‘Prime à l’Emploi’ Scheme

The Prime à l’Emploi Scheme is undergoing a review that aims to make several changes to its eligibility criteria.

These include:

(a) reducing the minimum unemployment period for a person to qualify under the scheme from one year to three months;

(b) requiring an employer who lays off an employee to wait at least three months prior to making an application under the scheme; and

(c) making the scheme applicable to an employee who is 62 years or below.
