Maubank appoints new CEO, Deputy CEO

MauBank has announced the appointment of Vishuene Vydelingum as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 22, 2023.

In addition, Issa Soormally has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, starting from November 23, 2023.

Vydelingum, who previously served as the Deputy CEO of MauBank, brings extensive experience and a successful track record in the banking sector.

He expressed his excitement and commitment to driving sustained success for the bank. MauBank’s Chairperson, Mahen Sookun, commended the appointments and highlighted Vydelingum’s leadership and Soormally’s industry experience.

Soormally, who has held positions at prominent banks and regulatory bodies (he is a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mauritius), expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasised his focus on building upon the bank’s progress.

Vydelingum replaces Premchand Mungar, who has been appointed CEO of SBM.
