Beach Rehabilitation Consultant needed, and it’s urgent!

The Ministry of Environment in Mauritius is seeking a consultant to provide guidance on urgent coastal rehabilitation measures in front of hotels, in order to combat beach erosion.

Rising sea levels caused by climate change and melting ice are causing Mauritian beaches to shrink at a rapid rate, with estimates suggesting that a significant portion of fine sandy beaches could disappear within 50 years.

The challenge is to find solutions that effectively address erosion without compromising the beauty of the coastline.

Interested parties meeting specific criteria have until December 18, 2023, to apply for the three-month contract.
