Things are allegedly going from bad to worse at Mauritius Airport, particularly for employees of Airport of Mauritius Ltd (AML) managed by Airport Holdings Ltd (AHL).

While employees expected to receive their Performance Management System (PMS) Bonus this month, as is usually the case, specifically for the Divali festival, it has not yet been paid out.

And there is every reason to believe that it will not be paid out until the end of the year.

This is the first time since its implementation in 2009 that the bonus has not been received.

This has caused a deep sense of frustration among the staff, who denounce management’s delaying tactic to avoid paying the amounts owed, pushing the payment to next year.

Employees have called on the Prime Minister to intervene and address the CEO’s actions. The situation is affecting productivity at the airport, they claimed.
