Gamma Civic Group Reports Slight Decline in Profit to Rs270M

Gamma Civic Group has reported a profit after tax of Rs270m for the nine months ended 30 September 2023, slightly lower than the previous year.

The company declared a final dividend of Rs1.75 per share and an interim dividend of Rs0.50 per share.

Revenue increased by Rs777m due to increased activities in all business segments.

However, operating profit decreased to Rs244m, mainly due to a drop in the Building Materials segment.

The Group reported an 11% increase in earnings per share. The Building Materials segment was negatively affected by cement price control and reported an operating profit of Rs25m.

The Contracting segment saw an increase in revenue but a decrease in operating profit due to market competition.

The Investment segment’s operating profit was driven by rental income, and the Lottery segment improved due to game redesign and a new game introduction.
