Former Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Collendavelloo may soon be reintegrated and get back his job despite being summoned on Monday by the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC) for questioning in the St. Louis case, which led to his dismissal three years earlier.

Insiders in the Muvman Liberater (ML) and the MSM ruling parties were cited as telling Defi Media that his reinstatement could occur in November.

Both parties reportedly view Collendavelloo’s comeback positively, particularly as he may take on other ministerial responsibilities aside from Public Service and Energy.

Collendavelloo’s potential new role as “mentor minister” is also rumoured.

However, his full return to the Cabinet waits for the ICAC to publish a report, although an internal ML source claimed that “the ML leader has always expressed his desire to swiftly answer the ICAC’s questions to prove his innocence.”

Collendavelloo’s potential contribution to the government, especially with the end of the term in sight, is reportedly highly valued by members of the MSM.
