Emtel Named Mauritius’ Fastest Network, Surges in Global Rankings

Emtel, a prominent telecommunications provider in Mauritius, has been recognised by Ookla, a global leader in network analysis, as the fastest network on the island.

As a result of this recognition, Mauritius has climbed from the 79th to the 63rd position in global network speed rankings.

The median download speed has nearly doubled, increasing from 23 Mbps to 45 Mbps in the second and third quarters of this year compared to the same period last year.

Emtel’s CEO, Kresh Goomany, expressed pride in this accomplishment and highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement.

He emphasized that Emtel will continue investing in cutting-edge technologies like 5G to meet the evolving demands of customers.

This recognition from Ookla solidifies Emtel’s position as a leader in the telecommunications industry, driving technological transformation in Mauritius.
