Stock Exchange of Mauritius seeks to tap Kenyan investors

The Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) has opened its market platform to Kenyan investment banks and stockbrokers, potentially offering new offshore investment opportunities.

SEM’s CEO, Sunil Benimadhu, announced that their new automated trading system (ATS) will integrate foreign intermediaries, aiming to expand their investor base.

This move coincides with efforts across African exchanges to enhance cross-border trading for increased market activity.

The SEM plans to attract remote members, initially from South Africa and Kenya, during the 2022/2023 fiscal year.
