Mauritius' International Reserves drop by Rs6 billion

As of end August 2023, Mauritius’ Gross Official International Reserves (GOIR) amounted to Rs 310.9 billion, approximately $6.8 billion.

This reflects a decrease of Rs 6 billion from the same period in 2022 when reserves were at Rs 316.9 billion.

Nevertheless, the current reserves are about Rs 6 billion higher than January’s figures, which were at Rs 304.2 billion.

In terms of import coverage, the reserves, based on 2022’s goods and services imports, represent 10.5 months’ worth by the end of August 2023.
