Last year alone, over 121,972 products were on promotion in hypermarkets, a figure that has already surpassed 70,000 in just the first seven months of this year.

Experts affirm that around 40% of products displayed on shelves are discounted, and these items contribute to nearly 50% of the overall revenue.

The significance of promotions in driving consumer purchases has been consistent, predating the pandemic.

Industry leaders highlight that consumers are more inclined to shop where discounts are available, turning promotional offers into a necessity.

Notably, the months of November and December typically witness the highest number of products on promotion.

This data underscores the central role of promotions in influencing purchasing decisions and shaping hypermarkets’ financial outcomes.
