Confrontation over Rs98million to CWA sparks MP's expulsion

A confrontation occurred between MMM MP Rajesh Bhagwan and Vikash Nuckcheddy, Deputy Chairperson of Committees, during the budget allocation examination in Parliament.

Bhagwan wanted to know details about Rs98 million allocated to the Central Water Authority (CWA), including the composition of the Board, the General Manager’s information, salary, sub-committee memberships, and remuneration.

Nuckcheddy reminded him that the purpose was to approve the budget amount.

Bhagwan retorted, stating, “how can we approve an amount of Rs98 million to give to a Board, public money, taxpayers money, when we do not even know who they are.”

This led to a heated exchange between the two, following which Bhagwan was suspended and asked to withdraw from the National Assembly.
