World Bank to quiz 360 Mauritian firms on investment climate

The World Bank is reviving its business assessment initiative, known as the Doing Business report, which was halted in 2021.
In Mauritius, the World Bank has chosen StraConsult to conduct the World Bank Enterprise Survey as part of its new project called Business Ready.
This survey will involve interviews with 360 companies and aims to provide a renewed perspective on the business climate and investment.
The data collected will be used to develop policies and promote the study of private sector development globally.
The Business Ready project is expected to facilitate private investment, create jobs, and improve productivity for inclusive and sustainable development.
The first annual report, covering 54 economies, will be published in the first half of 2024. Mauritius previously ranked 13th in the Doing Business report for 2020.
The World Bank’s renewed assessment initiative in Mauritius aims to provide a comprehensive and transparent evaluation of the business environment, identify areas for improvement, and attract investments.
